Benefits to donors of the CFC Campaign

Working through enhance partnerships with community based organizations, corporations, technology centers and local schools, Digital Sisters provides assistance in closing the gender and diversity gap in technology by developing and implementing programs that promote needed life skills training. Our educational philosophy is based on a participatory and interactive learning approach.

We provide technical support for school programs; teacher-You've got the power to helpupgrade seminars in technology curriculum integration, and field trips for the students in the youth business institute. We have currently served over 300 participants and partnered with more than 15 organizations. Our major programs are our Girl Tech Clubs, Teen Mom Program, Techno Activism, and our Technology Donation Program. We are unique in that we bring our programs to our community. We set up after school computer clubs in schools and centers. We provide training and educational program with mobile labs.

Use of technology as a tool for life and academic enrichment is a strategy that focuses on technology as a social service, this is our strategy. By the year 2008 there will be 1.3 million new technology workers and 65% of the economy will be based on technology by the year 2010 (NSF 1996 Report). Technology is more than a mere luxury it has become a critical necessity along with reading, writing and mathematics.

The catalog of the charities can be accessed online in pdf format. We are listed on page 73.
